September 2025 set a new record for battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations in the UK. According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), 72,779 new BEVs were registered last month alone, which is a 29.1% year-on-year increase, making it the highest ever monthly volume.
